Many modern handles also allow you to attach an extension pole, which makes it easier and safer to reach higher windows without climbing a ladder.

The channel is the metal or plastic bar that holds the rubber blade in place. It needs to be straight and rigid so that the blade maintains even pressure across the glass. Channels come in different lengths, and it’s worth choosing one that matches the size of your windows so you can cover more glass with each pass without feeling unwieldy.

The rubber blade is where all the magic happens. This thin strip of rubber is what actually pulls the cleaning solution and dirt off the glass, leaving a clear, streak‑free surface behind. 

Fresh, high‑quality rubber makes a huge difference: if your blade is nicked, worn, or hardened with age, it will leave lines and water trails. Replacing the rubber regularly is one of the easiest ways to keep your squeegee performing like new and your windows looking their best.
